Culu Church started as a group of strangers who were gathered together by our founder, Cleric Anthony to play music on Sunday mornings when the kids when to Sunday school. It became known as our "Sunday School"; a time and place where we could create and play music and worship with our voices and instruments to celebrate the great life God has given us. We were always non-denominational, made up of Protestants, Catholics, Jewish and agnostic people who just wanted to celebrate our spirituality. Around the same time, our founder became an ordained minister and began performing marriage ceremonies. Over time, the two became one and in 2024, Brother Anthony built the Sanctuary, a cathedral in the Texas Hill Country where our musical ceremonies could reach their greatest potential (and volume). We continue to invite people out to experience our Sonic Sacrament, whether you contribute to the creation or merely bath in the sound, as a baptismal font.
We, the congregants of Culu Church, declare our devotion to the Great Spirit, the Architect of the Universe, whose voice is heard in the rustle of the leaves and whose wisdom is mirrored in the ancient texts.
-
The Divine in Nature: We believe the Earth is the primary cathedral. We find the Divine through the rhythms of the seasons and the sanctity of the natural world, as taught by our Celtic ancestors.
-
The Living Word: We believe the Judeo-Christian scriptures are a wellspring of wisdom, meant to be unlocked through rigorous scholarship, critical analysis, and open dialogue. We also believe that the ancient Celts and Druids had wisdom and truth in their customs and look to their legend and stories and honor their natural approach
-
The Harmony of Song: We believe music is the highest form of prayer and the swiftest path to the soul’s alignment with God.
-
The Sacred Sanctuary: We believe our spiritual path is inward and upward; therefore, we remain untethered from the secular divisions of politics and worldly governance.
